When I say that to a potential client I never know how he or she is going to react. Being labelled a Graphic Designer feels a little like being called an illustrator, colour artist, desktop layout artist, a webmaster and something else that does not come even close to describing what I do.
Then what am I? What can I do for you? What will KookaburraDesign bring to you?
Well, I am a Graphic Designer. Yes I will put graphic elements and text together to help you get your message across. But no, I am not an artist nor a mind reader. And yes, I do know a thing or two about web design but no, I am not a webmaster.
Basically, I am a consultant. My job is to help you put together elements so that your business, your printed communication, looks good like you want it.
Great, how does this work?
The final result must suit your purpose. I will listen to what you think your business needs. Then using more than just creative skills I will inspire you with different options.
"I AM A GRAPHIC DESIGNER"
“Design is first and foremost an intellectual process. Contrary to popular belief, designers are not artists. They employ artistic methods to visualise and process, but, unlike artists, they work to solve a client's problem, not present their own view of the world.” ■
